This assumption, however, holds as if Wali Songo’s venture was confined locally to Java while such a process encompassed the Archipelago and beyond. This article aims to reconstruct the Wali Songo's Islamization from glocalization perspective, by involving both local and global phenomenon of the Islamization processes. To further analyze the Islamization, this study uses geo politics and cultural diffusion theories. Data in this study was collected using historical methods consisting of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study showed two findings. First of all that Wali Songo Islamization constituted cosmopolitan Islam, indicated by process of Wali Songo Islamization that was not only local Java but also regional (Nusantara) and global ones.Wali Songo Islamization of local Java took the micro areas of the preaching and spreading Islam in the region, including East Java, Central Java and West Java. While the Islamization of regional and global took macro areas as the networking strategies of the preaching Islam in the region, indicated by the integration between global and local (glocalization) processes of the Islamization. Second, the glocalization of Wali Songo Islamization could be understood by emplacing the Islamization as World History of Islam in Medieval Period using multi-perspectives.
2024-07-12T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/iccl/article/view/9580THE EPISTEMOLOGY OF RELIGIOUS MODERATION IN JAVANESE LITERATURE (REVISITING THE MORAL GUIDELINES OF JAVANESE SOCIETY IN SERAT WULANGREH)2024-07-12T08:45:52+07:00Mohammad Fattahun Ni’amfattah.niamboho@gmail.com
This paper explores the intricate interweaving of reflections on the concept of moderation today in the rich tapestry of Javanese literature, especially through a nuanced exploration of the epistemological foundations present in Serat Wulangreh created by Pakubuwana IV. In its time, Serat Wulangreh consisting of 13 Pupuh was a guideline for moderation in Javanese society, especially Surakarta Sunanate. According to Peorbatjaraka, a literary expert of the Dutch East Indies era, the values in Serat Wulang Reh were widely applied by the Surakarta community as a guide to life. Thus, the assumption that Indonesians are only consumers of external values is certainly not true. Indonesia has always been a producer of values, one of which is the concept of religious moderation that should be introduced to the world. Using a multidisciplinary approach that combines epistemology and literary studies, this research re-evaluates the moral guidelines inherent in Indonesian society, especially Java, as depicted in this important work. Through an analysis of the religious principles and ethical frameworks embedded in the text, the study aims to elucidate the essence of moderation in the Javanese cultural and religious ethos as well as underscore its relevance and applicability in the context of contemporary society. This research found that the idea of moderation value that is initiated now is not substantially new. The existing value of religious moderation is a reflection of the noble values of the Indonesian nation, one of which is contained in Serat Wulangreh. The existence of Serat Wulang Reh confirms that the nation's original framework of norms and values will remain even though it will dialogue with other values from outside.
2024-07-12T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/iccl/article/view/9581TRADITION OF OPIUM USE IN BLORA DURING THE DUTCH INDIES GOVERNMENT2024-07-12T08:50:37+07:00Novi Rochmadanitronickmc2000@gmail.comIrma Ayu Kartika Dewiirma.ayukartikadewi@staff.uinsaid.ac.id
Opium is a basic ingredient for making medicine from the sap of young opium fruit. The tradition of smoking opium was very popular among the people of Blora at the end of the 19th century because it contained an addictive substance which was able to relieve fatigue and was believed by people such as farmers, artists and labor heads to maintain their fitness. The people of Blora have a tradition of consuming low quality Opium by extracting it in the form of medicine, mixing it with kitchen spices, mixing it in cigarette tobacco, mixing it with flavorings in tea or coffee drinks. Moreover, in Java, almost every region has a Muslim village with the name Kauman. Kauman is synonymous with a mini santri city which is characterized by a community that carries out activities at the mosque, many people then call it the Kauman Mosque. The Kauman Mosque in each region has its own uniqueness and characteristics, one of which is in Kebumen. Kauman Kebumen Great Mosque is the largest mosque in Kebumen Regency, Central Java. This mosque was founded by KH Imanadi in 1838 AD. With almost 2 centuries of age, it is said that this mosque has not been included in the list of cultural heritage buildings. In general, the Great Mosque in several locations (for example in Solo or Yogyakarta) has a burial complex in the western part of the mosque, but this is different from the Kauman Great Mosque in Kebumen, where no traces of graves have been found. The founders of the mosque or religious figures were not buried in the mosque area. The Great Kauman Mosque in Kebumen has undergone several renovations, but during these renovations, it is said that it still maintained traditional Javanese architecture with similarities to the typology of the Great Mosque of Demak. This is what attracted researchers to identify and analyze the history, cultural acculturation and forms of architectural change at the Kauman Great Mosque, Kebumen. This research uses a qualitative historical approach method through stagesheuristics (data collection by means of interviews with related parties and also collecting sources of oral history of the Kauman Kebumen community and also takmir mosques), verification (source criticism, this is done by limiting research observations so that the focus is on the objectives of this research), interpretation (analysis is carried out by creating a structured narrative that can be accounted for in its truth and novelty), and historiography (carried out to convey the results of observations in three chapter discussions which will be completed in approximately 2-6 months). The results of the research are to find out the history of the Great Kauman Mosque, Kebumen, cultural acculturation which can be seen from the acculturation of Islamic and Hindu culture in the mosque building and the factors that cause this almost 2 century old building to not be included in the cultural heritage building in 2023. The reasons why the building renovation was influenced environmental factors, namely socio-cultural, religious, economic, political and legal that apply at a certain time. There have been renovations several times, but there are parts that are maintained and preserved in order to preserve historical evidence in the form of archaeological objects in the form of artifacts and features to convey information that has been passed down from generation to generation in an effort to maintain the existence of the glory of the past.
2024-07-12T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/iccl/article/view/9588STUDENTS’ PERCEPTIONS ON THE USE OF OFFLINE-BASED LEARNING METHODS: LECTURE AND GROUP PRESENTATION IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION COURSE AT UNTAG SEMARANG2024-07-12T09:25:16+07:00Diah Ayu Mawartidyah-ayumawarti@untagsmg.ac.idNovita Al Ihyak Dienidyah-ayumawarti@untagsmg.ac.idWawan Wibisonodyah-ayumawarti@untagsmg.ac.id
The application of a learning method in the learning process has an impact on students’ acceptance. International fast food chains primarily utilize advertisements in their target country's language. The aim is to analyze the language used in advertisements on their official Instagram accounts and to examine how local languages are employed during special events in Indonesia. This becomes an important strategy in promoting their products through the incorporation of local languages in advertisements. A qualitative research approach was employed to analyze advertisements and to answer the research questions. The theoretical framework is based on Robertson’s (1980) conceptions of universalizing and particularizing tendencies, and on Fernandez's (2009) theory of 'Cultural Glocality' with a few modifications. The top five international fast food chains, including McDonald's, Dominos, KFC, Burger King, and Pizza Hut, were chosen for this reason. This study analyzed advertisements from January to April 2024. The findings reveal that multinational fast food chains are more popular in Indonesia because of the language they employ in their advertisements to attract and convey their message to their customers. The data analysis reveals that glocal strategies include employing local language(s), code switching, location, cultural/religious events, and language aspects in advertising. Using local language allows them to promote their products while simultaneously localize their brand in Indonesia.
2024-07-12T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/iccl/article/view/9599DIGITIZATION OF JAVANESE MANUSCRIPTS IN THE STUDY OF ARCHIPELAGO MANUSCRIPTS AT THE REKSA PUSTAKA MANGKUNEGARAN SURAKARTA LIBRARY2024-07-12T13:15:07+07:00Mega Alif Marintanmega.alifmarintan@staff.uinsaid.ac.idQisthi Faradina Ilma Mahananiqisthi.fim@staff.uinsaid.ac.idSalsabilla Nathania Arumsasisalsabilaarumsari@gmail.com
Libraries have an important role in preserving local wisdom treasures.
2024-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2024 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/iccl/article/view/9650GLOKALISASI PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS STEAM DI SMPTQ ABI UMMI AMPEL BOYOLALI2024-07-18T09:17:15+07:00Abdul Kosimkhasby2010@gmail.comIka Martanti Mulyawatiikakhasby@gmail.com
Inovasi Pembelajaran menyebabkan perubahan dalam segala hal, terutama persaingan global.
