Meanwhile, this research aims to determine the effectiveness of using problem-based learning (PBL) based on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills. This research is classroom action research with two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation (act & observe), and reflection. This research targeted 11 fifth-grade students at SDN Wirogunan 03. Data was obtained from the results of formative tests by answering ten questions and observation sheets of learning activities. The research results showed that students' mathematical problem-solving skills had increased. Cycle I experienced an average increase of 17.95%, and cycle II experienced an average increase of 31.85%. The research results show that HOTS-based PBL can improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills and effectively improve the mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Wirogunan 03 Kartasura
Qomsiatun Munawaroh Murfiah Dewi Wulandari Heni Tina Maya Astuti Copyright (c) 2024 qomsi atun munawaroh, Qomsi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 5 1 1 11 10.22515/jenius.v5i1.8912 Implementation of Character Education Based on Local Wisdom in Dance Extracurriculars at Elementary Schools https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/8709
Western culture is currently developing very rapidly along with technological developments; this has a big impact on the development of the character and morals of students in Indonesia. This research aims to (1) Describe the implementation of character education based on local wisdom in dance extracurriculars at SDN Kartasura 01 Sukoharjo; (2) Describe the values of local wisdom in extracurricular dance, especially the Kebo Kinul dance at SDN Kartasura 01 Sukoharjo. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this research were 15 students who were active in extracurricular dance and 1 dance teacher. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research are: (1) The implementation of character education based on local wisdom in extracurricular dance at SDN Kartasura 01 Sukoharjo was carried out by preserving the regional culture of the Kebo Kinul Dance, which developed in Sukoharjo Regency; (2) The values contained in the Kebo Kinul dance extracurricular are the value of working together, the value of gratitude and the value of love for the homeland. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the implementation goes through the stages of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation following the curriculum to achieve national education goals
Maesaroh Maesaroh Kustiarini Kustiarini Copyright (c) 2024 Maesaroh Maesaroh, Kustiarini Kustiarini https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 5 1 12 21 10.22515/jenius.v5i1.8709 The Relationship between Reading Interest and the Ability to Solve Mathematics Story Problems in Elementary School Students https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/8785
Reading is the main key to understanding the content of reading texts. Reading activities can be done according to someone's interest. A lack of interest in reading causes a lack of understanding of the content of the reading text. This research aims to determine the relationship between interest in reading and the ability to solve math story problems. This research uses quantitative correlational. The population used was 198 class V students in Gatak District, with a sample of 126 students. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. The instruments used in data collection were essay tests to measure the ability to solve mathematical problems and questionnaires to measure interest in reading. The data analysis technique used in this research is product-moment correlation. The results showed that interest in reading was in the moderate category for 69 students, or around 55% of 126 students, while students' ability to solve math story problems was in the medium category for 71 students, or around 56% of 126 students. A sig value was obtained based on hypothesis test calculations using SPSS 23. 0.000 < 0.05, then there is a correlation between variables showing a positive relationship between interest in reading and students' ability to solve math story problems. Schools are expected to improve students' abilities in solving mathematical story problems through motivation and habituation to increase interest in reading
Azizah Ismi Nafisah Moh Bisri Copyright (c) 2024 Azizah Ismi Nafisah, Moh Bisri https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 5 1 22 31 10.22515/jenius.v5i1.8785 Sharpening Creativity in Elementary Education through Simple Fine Arts: Literature Review https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/9307
Simple fine arts can be an effective and fun way to hone children’s creativity at the elementary school level. By allowing children to express themselves artistically, schools can strengthen their learning experiences and prepare them for broader future challenges. This research aims to explore the influence of simple visual arts on increasing the creativity of elementary/MI children through a Systematic Literature Review with the steps: developing the research question (formulating research questions), developing the search strategy (searching for articles or literature that match the research theme), selection criteria (applying inclusion criteria to select articles), evaluation and analysis data (evaluating and analyzing data), and interpreting (reporting research findings). A total of 22 articles were found that met the inclusion criteria for analysis. The research results show that fine arts can stimulate imagination and self-expression, develop fine motor skills, strengthen observation and concentration abilities, increase self-confidence and intrinsic motivation, and use simple materials for creative activities. Therefore, simple fine arts can be an effective means of developing children’s creativity at the elementary school level, so it is necessary to integrate art into the educational curriculum to improve children’s creative abilities
Yuliani Dwi Ambarsari Muhammad Azidan Alanthony Elisa Ayu Safitri Syafina Muzdalifah Najwa Shahibatun Wafa Copyright (c) 2024 Yuliani Dwi Ambarsari, Muhammad Azidan Alanthony, Elisa Ayu Safitri, Syafina Muzdalifah, Najwa Shahibatun Wafa https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 5 1 32 40 10.22515/jenius.v5i1.9307 Application of Picture and Picture in Increasing Student Learning Activeness in Civic Education Subjects https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/8952
This research is an improvement in the learning methods students use during learning. Aims to increase mastery of civic education competencies by applying the Picture And Picture model. This type of research is called Classroom Action Research (CAR). Data was collected using the test method. This classroom action research has four stages, namely: (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The results of this research show that the Picture and Picture Learning Model positively impacts student learning achievement. This result can be seen from students' increasingly solid understanding of the material the teacher presented. The increase occurred from Cycle I to Cycle II. So it can be concluded that the application of the Picture And Picture Model can improve mastery of civic education class II lesson competencies at SD 3 Muhammadiyah Surakarta
Nurul Septiana Wulandari Jan Wantoro Copyright (c) 2024 Nurul Septiana Wulandari, Jan Wantoro https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2024-06-30 2024-06-30 5 1 41 53 10.22515/jenius.v5i1.8952
