This research aims to examine the improvement in AKMI results for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah/Islamic Elementary School (MI) students in 2021 and 2022. The approach used is quantitative descriptive and analyzed in percentage form at each level of proficiency. The author also conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in 2022 with several teachers in the AKMI Follow-up Instructor Candidate class. The results showed a shift in higher proficiency levels in all types of literacy: reading literacy, scientific literacy, numeracy literacy, and socio-cultural literacy. The increase in proficiency levels in these four types of literacy is influenced by massive Continuous Professional Development/Pengembangan Kompetensi Keberlanjutan (PKB) carried out through teacher working groups (KKG–MGMP/MGBK), working groups of madrasah heads, Kriteria Kelulusan Minimum/Graduate Minimum Criteria (KKM) and supervisory working groups (Pokjawas). In addition, the increase occurred due to the Technical Guidance/Bimbingan Teknis (BIMTEK) follow-up of AKMI results for MI teachers. Through this activity, BIMTEK participants can increase their knowledge about literacy
Amalia Amalia Copyright (c) 2023 Amalia Amalia https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/7941 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 Strategy for Learning Space Geometry Concepts in Elementary School Students https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/6420
Space is an aspect of geometry that is important for students to master, which allows students to analyze and study in reality and helps to operate other material. This research aims to find out the methods and strategies used by teachers in teaching spatial geometry to elementary school students. This type of research uses library research. The data sources used as research material were obtained from 4 (four) journals related to the theme being studied so that the data presented was quite strong and clear. The analysis technique used in this research is content analysis. The results of the research show that the strategy that must be implemented by teachers is to teach the basic concepts of spatial geometry first and use concrete and supportive learning media so that students can understand the concept of spatial geometry in mathematics correctly in real life.
Laksmi Savitri Kumala Dewi, Aprilia Fajar Yanti, Cantika Sari Ramadhani, Setyorini Murniati, Wiwin Astuti Copyright (c) 2023 Laksmi Savitri Kumala Dewi, Aprilia Fajar Yanti, Cantika Sari Ramadhani, Setyorini Murniati, Wiwin Astuti https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/6420 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 The Relationship between Short Story Reading Intensity and Elementary School Students' Reading Skills https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/7036
A person's low interest in reading can result in a lack of information which causes knowledge to be less developed. This research aims to determine the intensity of short story reading and students' reading skills as well as the relationship between these two variables in class II students at 017 Public Elementary School Tanjungpinang Timur, Kepulauan Riau. Researchers use quantitative correlational research. The population used was 76 students in classes III/b and III/c with a sample of 64 students. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in data collection were performance and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is hypothesis testing using the Spearman rank correlation formula. The research results showed that the intensity of reading short stories was in the medium category, 43 students or around 64% of 64 students; the students' reading skills were in the medium category; and 38 students or around 59% of 64 students. Based on hypothesis test calculations using SPSS 25 software, a sig value was obtained. 0.000 < 0.05, then there is a correlation between variables so that H1 is accepted while H0 is rejected, thus indicating that there is a positive relationship between the intensity of reading short stories and students' reading skills. Schools are expected to empower students' reading skills through the habit of increasing reading intensity
Rizki Nurliana, Retno Wahyuningsih Copyright (c) 2023 Rizki Nurliana, Retno Wahyuningsih https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/7036 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 The Influence of Lecture and Question and Answer Methods Assisted by Video Learning Media on Primary School Students' Science Critical Thinking Abilities https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/7772
The ability to think critically is a process of understanding and examining a problem or object by actively considering and evaluating statements and ideas that have meaningful value. This study aims to determine students' critical thinking skills in science subjects after being given treatment by applying lecture and question-and-answer methods with the help of video learning media. This research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Klaseman Gatak. The study was conducted in November 2022. The research method used is pre-experimental—data analysis using a paired sample t-test. The instrument used in this study is a critical thinking ability test in the form of a description of 9 questions. Validation in this research instrument is expert validation and empirical validation. Expert validation was given to two expert lecturers, and empirical validation was given to 21 grade IV B MI Muhammadiyah Klaseman students. The study sample was 22 students in class IV A, with a population of 43. The study's results averaged a pretest score of 57.24 while the average posttest score of 63.47 obtained a significant value, 0.069>0.05, so Ho was accepted, and Ha was rejected. It can be concluded that there is no significant influence on the use of lecture and question-and-answer methods with the help of learning media on students' critical thinking skills in grade IV science subjects at Muhammadiyah Islamic Elementary School Klaseman
Rosa Susila Prestikadini, Erlinda Rahma Dewi Copyright (c) 2023 Rosa Susila Prestikadini, Erlinda Rahma Dewi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/7772 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700 Efforts to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Skills Through Scientific Approach in Elementary School https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/6324
This research was carried out to determine teachers' application of the scientific approach to improving the critical thinking skills of Public Islamic Elementary School 4 Sukoharjo students. The subjects of this research are class VI students for the 2022/2023 academic year. The type of research is descriptive qualitative. Techniques for collecting data are direct observation, documentation, and semi-structured interviews with teachers as research subjects and students as research informants. Based on the research results, it was found that educators in the teaching process in class VI Public Islamic Elementary School 4 Sukoharjo had implemented scientific learning in teaching and learning activities, which consisted of five activity steps, namely observing, asking, trying, reasoning, and communicating. The results obtained from applying a scientific approach to learning can make students think more critically
Setyorini Murniati Copyright (c) 2023 Setyorini Murniati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://ejournal.uinsaid.ac.id/index.php/jenius/article/view/6324 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 +0700
