KEMATANGAN SOSIAL PADA MAHASISWA MERANTAU DI IAIN SURAKARTA

Students are in the transition from teenagers to early adulthood. The stage of human development is coupled with various psychological demands to be fulfilled. One element of personality that is considered important to human life in relation to the environment is social maturity. Social maturity is the ability to function precisely the right responsibilities and understanding of the social rules and norms within a particular culture and the ability to appropriately use knowledge. This research aims to determine the level of social maturity experienced by the foreign students. The method used in this study is qualitative with a case study approach. The subject used by researchers in this study was an active student of IAIN Surakarta. The results obtained from this research are the subject with the initials of NY and EWY have fulfilled 3 aspects in supporting social maturity. In addition, the subject of NY and EWY have indirectly understood what social maturity is. So the conclusion of this research is, the subject of NY and EWY have fulfilled good social maturity. They are able to adapt to the environment, socialize/cooperate with the surroundings and even able to position themselves precisely in the neighborhood. Most importantly, NY and EWY are able to fully responsible for the norms or rules that exist in the environment around NY and EWY live now.
