Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

The editor of TABASA: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra Indonesia, dan Pengajarannya welcomes article in language, linguistics, literature, and their learning. The submissions should be in accordance with the following guidelines: 

1. Articles have not been published or accepted for any publication, or are being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition to the manuscript, a written statement should be attached which clarifies that the article is original and does not contain any elements of plagiarism.
2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; research reports (laboratory, field, archives), conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications.
3. Articles are written in Indonesian, or English using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), normal margin, and between 13-15 pages in length (excluding references, pictures, and tables).
4. Article should be in form of essay which includes:

  • title (maximum 15 words) in English or Indonesia
  • Authors name should not be written on the article but it should be put on the article metadata on Open Journal System (OJS) website. Two or more authors in an article are prefered. Author must fill out authors profile on OJS website that consists of author First, Middle and Last Name (If author only uses one name, fill the first name and last name with the same name), Gender, Initial, Username, Password, Affiliation (University/or Institution), E-mail, Mailing Address (complete address of affiliation: street name, city, province and zip code), Country and Bio Statement (Department or Faculty).
  • Abstract is written in English and Indonesian (150-250 words for each) which includes research problems, methods, and results.
  • Keywords in English and Indonesian contains 3-5 words or prhases,
  • Introduction (without subsection) contains background, state of the arts, objectives. The introduction section  ends with an emphasis on items to be discussed.
  • Literature reviews contains theoretical construct of the research. Authors are strongly recommended to refer to the most recent articles published by reputable journals.
  • Research methods, which includes subjek or object research, instrumen in use, technical get data, and technical data analisis.
  • Result and Discussion, in here explain about found of research, can explain in table and analisys of data.
  • Conclusion, this is about impact of research founded to education, linguistics, literary or human social.
  • References.

5. Reference list format is based on APA (American Psychological Association) style by using Mendeley Reference Management. Reference list should appear at the end of the article and includes only literatures actually cited in the manuscripts. References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically. When writing a reference list, please use the following conventions;

  • Aminuddin. (2008). Semantik: Pengantar Studi tentang Makna. Bandung: Sinar Baru Algensindo.

6. To submit an article, please register. Fill the password by yourself. Then click 'user home' and click 'new submission' at the end of author.
7. Authors will be sent notifications of the receipt of manuscripts and editorial decisions (whether the articles are accepted or not) by e-mail. Manuscripts that are not published will not be returned to the authors.

Copyright Notice

The copyright of the received article shall be assigned to the journal as the publisher of the journal. The intended copyright includes the right to publish the article in various forms (including reprints). The journal maintains the publishing rights to the published articles.
