Abstract
This study explains the preventive measures taken by families to prevent sexual abuse. While the majority of people still think that only mothers are responsible for caring. Not all fathers understand that between father and mother have the same portion of parenting. Therefore, this study aims to determine the role of fathers and mothers in providing sex education as a preventive measure to prevent sexual crimes. This research method uses literacy studies. The results of this study indicate that the roles of fathers and mothers in preventing sexual crimes can be divided into two broad lines. The first plays a role in building children's feelings, the second plays a role in giving skills to children when facing danger. When a child has got these two roles from father and mother, he will be able to feel that he is valuable and able to avoid sexual abuse.
